This is Bloo! Now he may seem like your average kid in college, but then again, not everything is as it seems. Bloo was born in the great state of New York, which is a place he would always call his home. With a penchant for communication he began speaking at 10 months, and reading simple sentences at 2 years old. Despite his adverse reactions to all things mathematical, he was a pretty smart cookie. In the fifth grade he was first exposed to Broadway, seeing the Wizard of Oz. things would never be the same. Let’s move forward a few more years. Bloo, now with the dreams of becoming an actor, is currently attending a local Atlanta high school for the arts, when he is informed of The Collision Project with The Alliance Theater Company. It is there he realizes that his artistic fulfillment reaches beyond just acting. He soon falls prey to the siren of playwriting, who rewards him with the award of Semi-Finalist is the National Young Playwright Competition. He is then swept up into the whirlwind world of directing. After his high school graduation he worked with The New American Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta, studying, acting, and interpreting the works of the bard, and developing a love for Elizabethan English. He then worked with Heifer International (an amazing organization dedicated to ending world hunger) doing a project called “Llama Drama” where he began to notice that we as artists don’t need to only donate money to make a difference. Our contribution is our creativity and using that to raise awareness. He now attends The University of North Texas, where he has been the President of the University Players organization, worked with the McKinney Repertory Theater, and was a founding member of The Ignite Theatre Company. In his 21 years of life he has been several different countries, had experiences with many different languages, and been exposed to dozens of peoples and cultures from around world. Although he looks like your average kid, he’s much much more than that!
